Travelling to and around Vilnius

Numerous appropriate flights may be found via Warsaw, Ryga, Amsterdam, or Frankfurt.
Transportation in Vilnius
From the airport, it is possible either to take a public transportation (duration ~45 minutes, price – depends on the obtained ticket – see below), or a taxi (costs ~30 eur).
At the airport, a bus stop “Oro uostas” is in from of the arrival hall. Please, take a bus No.3G, and change it to a bus No.10 in the bus stop “Žaliasis tiltas” (it is approximately in the middle of the route). Direction “Fabijoniškės”, stop “Mykolo Romerio universitetas”.
From the city center ( F.E. From Cathedral square) to Mykolas Romeris University
There is a direct bus No. 10 to Mykolas Romeris University (duration of travel ~30-40 minutes) from Amberton hotel. Take bus No. 10 (direction to Fabijoniškės) from the stop “Arkitkatedra” located on an opposite side of the street from the hotel and go until a stop “Mykolo Romerio universitetas”.

Busses and trolleybuses
Public transportation in Vilnius is well developed and can get you just about anywhere in the town. Buses and trolleybuses goes in Vilnius. Public transportaton in Vilnius start running at around 5:00 a.m., and run until 23:00 p.m.

A single 60-minute ticket can be purchased at the validation machine on board the vehicle using a contactless payment card. If you plan to spend more time in Vilnius, it is recommended to purchase a JUDU/Vilniečio (Vilnietis) card. Taxi
From an airport, you can get by taxi. For less expensive travel by taxi, call a taxi by phone (city information desk at the arrival hall can do it for you).
When travelling around the city, it is much better to order service by using mobile APP’s (Bolt, Uber, A2B) or call a taxi company by phone, because of “catching” it on the street might cost you both additional 4-6 euro for entrance + double rates per each kilometre.

In the entire campus of MRU, there is a wireless internet connection, and the University guests have access to it free of charge on request. Wi-fi networks on campus: Eduroam; MRU Guest; MRU; MRU Visitor.
Currency and payments
In Lithuania, the official currency is EURO. If you want to pay in cash, it is possible in euro only.
At the airport, there are several banks’ currency exchange offices in the Arrival hall.
In all hotels, in most of the shops, supermarkets, restaurants major credit cards are accepted. The most popular bank (credit) cards, which are used in Lithuania are: VISA (Visa Electron), and Mastercard (Maestro).
